Liam Patterson-White has received a call-up to a 15-strong England Lions squad for two upcoming four-day matches against South Africa A.

Patterson-White, 27, is in a squad captained by Warwickshire’s Dan Mousley that will play matches between 22-25 May at Arundel and 29 May - 1 June at Beckenham.

The left-arm spinner, who was also included in the Lions squad for a recently-curtailed series against Pakistan A in the UAE, has claimed 19 wickets at an average of 27.36 so far in 2026.

He has become renowned for his ability to bowl marathon spells, sending down 183.2 overs across five matches this summer, all while conceding an economy rate of just 2.83 per over.

Patterson-White is joined by seven players receiving their debut call-ups for the Lions, with 12 counties represented across the squad.

Somerset seamer Alfie Ogborne is set to play the first game, before Sussex’s Henry Crocombe comes into the squad for the second clash a week later.

England Men’s Performance Director, Ed Barney, said: “We have selected an exciting squad that brings together those players that are potentially next in line for England selection.

“We have names who have been rewarded for their form in the Rothesay County Championship this season.

“These matches provide an opportunity to perform and execute their skills against a strong international side.”
