Emma Jones marshalled The Blaze to a thrilling three-wicket victory over Hampshire.

Charlie Phillips ripped through Hampshire with 4-31 as the visitors were bowled out for 209.

Tammy Beaumont made her second consecutive half-century, before 37* from Jones helped The Blaze extend their lead at the top of the table.

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, The Blaze made the perfect start. Phillips picked up two wickets in her first over to reduce Hampshire to 2-2.

Georgia Adams and Ella McCaughan shared a century partnership to rebuild. However, disciplined bowling kept a lid on the run rate. A platform had been laid, but when McCaughan fell for 48, Hampshire were unable to take advantage.

The opener was trapped LBW by Georgia Elwiss before a mix-up saw Naomi Dattani run out. With 15 overs to go, the visitors were 142-4.

The Blaze took the final six wickets in 5.2 overs as Hampshire collapsed from 183-4 to 209 all out.

Adams was the first to go, bowled by a beautiful Kathryn Bryce inswinger, before chaos saw two more run outs. This included an exceptional piece of teamwork from Beaumont and Emma Jones. Beaumont pulled off a sliding boundary stop, parrying the ball to Jones, who fired the ball over the top of the stumps for a simple dismissal.

Phillips added another two to her tally to finish with 4-31, before Grace Ballinger wrapped up the innings with the final wicket.

The Blaze needed 210 to win.

Marie Kelly fell early, but Beaumont steadied the ship, sharing half-century stands with Kathryn Bryce and Georgia Elwiss.

Beaumont batted brilliantly for her fifty, expertly using her feet to take down Hampshire’s spinners.

She was eventually caught at mid-off for 57, attempting to hit Bex Tyson down the ground for a boundary.

Orla Prendergast launched Wellington into the stands for the first six of the day, but when she fell, The Blaze still required 48, with only four wickets in hand.

Gordon fell soon after, but Jones and Lucy Higham saw their side over the line with a crucial partnership worth 37.

The Blaze extend their lead at the top of the table to nine points with this victory.
