Nottinghamshire took on a Titans XI at TUKS Oval in Pretoria over the final two full days of their 2026 pre-season tour of South Africa.

The game replicated Rothesay County Championship match conditions, and saw Nottinghamshire garner valuable batting and bowling practice against real-world opposition.

There was no live stream of the game, but you can relive Day Two as it happened with the now-concluded live blog below, as well as read a day summary and reaction from Peter Moores.

Day 2

REACTION FROM PETER MOORES

“Everybody played well. The competition is going to get a lot tougher than what we’ve had over here - we don’t fool ourselves - but I liked the way our players worked.

“All the bowlers have had a good run-up and managed to back themselves up with two or three spells each.

“Then, everybody’s also had their time in the middle, so it’s starting to feel like everybody’s ready.

“It’s the right time to go back to England, to play some practice games back at Trent Bridge, and get back used to English conditions.”

DAY SUMMARY

Nottinghamshire’s bowlers and batters gained further valuable time in the middle on the second and final day of their pre-season friendly against Titans.

After the tourists had batted through the entirety of Day One to pile up 324-3, they proceeded to be productive with the ball as Titans were reduced to 98-9 before ending their innings.

Rob Lord, Conor McKerr, and Dillon Pennington all claimed two wickets apiece, while Olly Stone - who also executed a run-out - and Liam Patterson-White collected one each.

Titans were invited to restart their batting efforts midway through the afternoon, allowing Lord to claim a further brace as their nominal second innings totalled 69-5.

Over the final hour, a succession of touring batters were then able to take advantage of a final opportunity to free their hands, with Patterson-White in particular striking sixes at will.
