Nottinghamshire are taking on a Titans XI at TUKS Oval in Pretoria over the final two full days of their 2026 pre-season tour of South Africa.

The game is replicating Rothesay County Championship match conditions, and Nottinghamshire batted for the entirety of Day One, before bowling on Day Two.

There is no live stream of the game, but you can relive the action from Day One - and return for the same on Day Two - with a now-concluded live blog and clips from the game below.

Day 1

REACTION FROM FREDDIE McCANN

“It’s obviously good to be back playing cricket, away from the indoor halls, and nice too to get some runs on the first game back on grass.

“It was a nice pitch for batting, and on a hot day, we had to capitalise where we could. I was sweating a little bit!

“It was definitely easier for batting than in England. Hopefully we can take this form back home to conditions where it won’t be as easy.

“Their attack took a little bit of getting used to, with us never having played them before, so it was good to score runs against them.

“It’s been a bit disrupted at times on this tour, having to go indoors a little bit with some rain around, but was a good day today, and hopefully we can have another one tomorrow.”

DAY SUMMARY

Freddie McCann top-scored with 94 before retiring not out as Nottinghamshire’s batters enjoyed time in the middle on a curtailed Day One against a Titans XI.

McCann made a fluent 94 off 91 balls, featuring nine fours and four sixes, before giving way to the remainder of the top order to further fine-tune themselves.

All of those who spent time in the middle were able to profit, with youngster Sam Seecharan (49 retired not out) and Joe Clarke (47) adding particular scores of note.

However, Lyndon James (38 retired not out), Ben Slater (34), and Jack Haynes (28 retired not out) also all contributed while putting their winter’s work into practice.

The latter stages of the day allowed lower-order batters Olly Stone, Rob Lord, and Conor McKerr to spend time facing the attack too.

However, proceedings were ended prematurely in the 69th over as a nearby storm drew in, with the decision to abandon play for the day made swiftly around 17:30 local time.

AS IT HAPPENED

17:30 SAST (15:30 GMT): With the covers moved into position, play has been formally called off for the day. Nottinghamshire end their innings on 324-3 partway through a curtailed 69th over.

16:55 SAST (14:55 GMT): The storm has regretfully again moved too close for comfort, and the players are taken off the field once more. Nottinghamshire are 324-3.

16:50 SAST (14:50 GMT): The players have returned to the field. Olly Stone is caught behind by wicketkeeper Lethabo Phahlamohlaka from the bowling of Sandiswa Yeni shortly after the resumption.

16:10 SAST (14:10 GMT): A storm in the area has seen the players taken off the field as a precautionary measure. Nottinghamshire are 322-2 in the 68th over - against a striking backdrop of the passing storm.

16:00 SAST (14:00 GMT): Lyndon James, on 38, and Jack Haynes, on 28, retire not out together to bring new batters Rob Lord and Olly Stone to the crease. Nottinghamshire are 314-2 with 30 overs remaining in the day.

15:25 SAST (13:25 GMT): We're back underway for the evening session in Pretoria. Divan de Villiers is bowling to Jack Haynes, who will continue to bat on alongside Lyndon James.

15:05 SAST (13:05 GMT): Tea is taken with a minimum of 37 overs remaining in the day. Nottinghamshire are 278-2, with Jack Haynes on 20* and Lyndon James having made 11*.

14:30 SAST (12:30 GMT): Freddie McCann retires not out on 94, bringing Lyndon James to the middle. Nottinghamshire are 260-2 after 53 overs.

14:15 SAST (12:15 GMT): Joe Clarke is caught by Steve Stolk off the bowling of Jalen Mannikam for 47. Jack Haynes heads to the crease.

14:05 SAST (12:05 GMT): In the first over following the drinks break, Freddie McCann goes to a 64-ball half-century with five fours and one six.

13:55 SAST (11:55 GMT): Freddie McCann carves a six off the bowling of Divan Engelbrecht to move to 45*, and Nottinghamshire reach 193-1 as drinks are taken. Joe Clarke has 43* at the other end.

13:00 SAST (11:00 GMT): We are back underway for the afternoon session at TUKS Oval. Sam Seecharan has retired not out, so Joe Clarke takes his place alongside Freddie McCann in the middle.

12:15 SAST (10:15 GMT): Lunch is taken, with Nottinghamshire 101-1 after 28 overs. Sam Seecharan is unbeaten on 49*, while Freddie McCann has 2*.

12:00 SAST (10:00 GMT): Ben Slater is bowled by Lesego Kokohlabana for 34, which sends Freddie McCann to the crease. Nottinghamshire are 96-1 in the final stages of the morning.

11:10 SAST (09:10 GMT): We take a drinks break with the sun now firmly out and the temperature up at 22°C. Nottinghamshire are 58 without loss, of which Ben Slater has 21* and Sam Seecharan has 23*.

10:30 SAST (08:30 GMT): Ben Slater handsomely cuts a short ball from Letsholo Selemela away to the point boundary as Nottinghamshire move to 31 without loss.

10:00 SAST (08:00 GMT): Sam Seecharan and Ben Slater are opening the batting for Nottinghamshire. The pair will be heartened by seeing the sun slowly beginning to make an appearance from behind the earlier thick cloud.
