All-rounder Orla Prendergast will return to The Blaze for a third successive season in 2026.

Ireland international Prendergast, 23, will play two separate stints in the Metro Bank One Day Cup in 2026, arriving first for the early stages in April and May.

She will then return for September, pending any international commitments around Ireland’s ODI tour of England.

“I’m thrilled to be coming back to The Blaze for another season,” said Prendergast. “We’ve got a really strong team capable of pushing for success, and I’m excited to be part of that again.

“I’ve really enjoyed the chances we’ve had to play at Trent Bridge in the past, so the fact we have more fixtures there than ever before in 2026 is another hugely exciting thought.”

Prendergast had previous spells in each of 2024 and 2025 with The Blaze, making 13 List A appearances across the two summers and registering totals of 239 runs and 14 wickets.

She is a 111-time Irish international, scoring almost 3,000 runs and taking 82 wickets, and recently helped her country qualify for the upcoming T20 World Cup on English soil this summer.

The Blaze Head Coach, Craig Cumming, added: “We’re really pleased to secure Orla’s return for the upcoming season.

“She made a real impact last year and added a lot to our group, so it’s great to see her come back for two important periods in the One Day Cup.”
