The Blaze secured an unprecedented treble as Emma Jones struck the winning runs to triumph over Hampshire in an all-time thriller at Utilita Bowl.

Chasing the home side’s 251-9, set after Lucy Higham had claimed 4/49 and Charley Phillips returned 3/38, The Blaze looked in control at 193-2 in the 40th over.

However, a Hampshire fightback saw five wickets go down, to leave The Blaze requiring 29 off 18 and then four off two.

Jones, though, kept her cool to sweep Daisy Gibb for the winning boundary off the very last ball and confirm her side as history-makers in the women’s game.
