Tom Moores will fly the flag for Nottinghamshire as he appears in two overseas tournaments this winter following a recent glut of franchise league acquisitions.
Australia’s Big Bash leagues continue to fill their squads through direct signings, while the ILT20 and the Abu Dhabi T10 in the UAE, and South Africa’s SA20, have all recently concluded their auctions.
Read on for a full round-up of which players from Nottinghamshire and The Blaze will be flying out to ply their trades in the franchise world this winter.
Women’s Big Bash League
The Blaze wicketkeeper Amy Jones and three-time overseas all-rounder Orla Prendergast will both be heading to Australia for the start of the Women’s Big Bash League before the end of October.
Jones will return to Melbourne Stars, whom she played for in the last edition, while Prendergast will turn out for Brisbane Heat after previously representing Adelaide Strikers two years ago.
Irishwoman Prendergast will be joined in light blue by Queensland local Charli Knott, who is returning for a seventh consecutive season with the Heat.

The competition begins on Thursday 29th October, with Jones’ Stars getting their tournament underway in home surroundings at Junction Oval against defending champions Hobart Hurricanes.
A day later, Prendergast and Knott’s Heat will get their campaign up and running with a home tie against Sydney Sixers at Allan Border Field.
The trio are scheduled to meet on Thursday 12th November when their sides clash at Junction Oval, with the final set to take place on Saturday 5th December.
Men’s Big Bash League
In the men’s tournament, which kicks off a week after the women’s final on 12th December, new Sydney Sixers recruit Fergus O’Neill will play his first season in pink after joining from Melbourne Renegades.
O’Neill could make his debut for his new side three days after the opener when the three-time champions travel to the Gabba to face the Heat, who won the title in 2024.
Off the field, Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores has also recently moved into a new role as Director of Coaching at the Stars following three years as head coach of the men’s side.

With Moores having handed the reins over to former Australia batter Cameron White, the Stars men start at home to Adelaide Strikers on Friday 18th December, which is also Moores’ birthday.
Moores and O’Neill, who have been on the same side in each of the past two County Championship campaigns at Trent Bridge, will go head-to-head on Thursday 7th January when the Sixers visit the MCG.
ILT20
The fifth edition of the ILT20 in the United Arab Emirates gets underway on Saturday 21st November and runs until Sunday 20thDecember, with three members of Notts’ class of 2026 involved.
Tom Moores will play for Dubai Capitals, Joe Clarke will represent Desert Vipers, and George Linde, an Outlaws overseas recruit this year, will make his ILT20 debut with Sharjah Warriorz.
Moores has swapped sides after playing for Gulf Giants last time, while Clarke returns after a year away, having spent two earlier editions with Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

It will be Clarke who will be the first of the trio to take to the field as the Vipers, who are defending champions, face MI Emirates in Dubai in a tournament opener that is also a repeat of last season’s final.
A day later, Linde and Moores join the party, as the Warriorz first take on the Giants in an afternoon clash in Sharjah, before the Capitals face the Knight Riders under the lights in Dubai.
The first instance of the trio clashing with one another will see Linde’s Warriorz face Clarke’s Vipers in both sides’ second outing on Monday 23rd November in Sharjah.
Two days after that, Moores will face Clarke as the Capitals take on the Vipers in an all-Dubai tie, before Linde and Moores meet for the first time on Friday 27th November as the Warriorz host the Capitals.
Abu Dhabi T10
Directly preceding the ILT20 is the even faster-paced ten-over Abu Dhabi T10, which is now into its tenth season and will again be played entirely in the Emirati capital.
Beginning on Saturday 7th November and culminating in the final 13 days later, the relaunched league will feature two members of Notts Outlaws’ 2026 squad.
Tom Moores is set for a lengthy stay in the Gulf, turning out for Yas Lions in what will be his sixth season involved in a competition he has won twice, including last year when he played for UAE Bulls.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir, who joined the Outlaws midway through this year’s Vitality Blast, is also representing his fifth team in the T10, having signed for the now Moores-less Bulls.

The schedule for the competition is still yet to be confirmed, with the major change between this upcoming season and the last is a cut in the number of teams, down from eight to six.
SA20
Two local players who were on Nottinghamshire’s books as overseas players in 2026 were retained by their respective sides for the upcoming fifth edition of the SA20 in South Africa.
The tournament will begin on Sunday 17th January, shortly after England Men’s Test and ODI tour of the country finishes, with the final in Cape Town scheduled for exactly five weeks later on 21st February.
George Linde, who played in the Vitality Blast, will return to MI Cape Town, while County Championship wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne has been retained for a second season with Paarl Royals.
Linde has represented his hometown team of MI Cape Town in every SA20 season, while the Royals are Verreynne’s third side, with Joburg Super Kings and Pretoria Capitals also featuring on his CV.

Neither are involved in the curtain-raiser, which features the Capitals visiting Gqeberha to take on defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in a repeat of last year’s final.
However, Verreynne will go up against his other former side in his first outing just one day later, when the Royals welcome the Super Kings to Boland Park.
Two days after that, on Wednesday 20th January, Linde will get his first taste of this year’s competition, also against the Super Kings, in a home opener at the iconic Newlands.
In a local derby, the duo will clash for the first time this year in both sides’ second match, as the Royals visit Newlands on Friday 22ndJanuary, before a return fixture at Boland Park two days later.
