Faith Teekasingh struck 80 before Diya Badge and Flora Davies hit half-centuries as The Blaze Academy won two from two in a T20 double-header against Essex.
Continuing her fine run of recent form at Lady Bay, Teekasingh slammed her runs off just 39 balls, with 13 fours and three sixes, as the hosts triumphed by eight wickets in the first clash.
Maria Andrews also contributed 26 as the home batters made light work of Essex’s 130-6, set after Elina Patel claimed 2/21, with victory completed by eight wickets in just 13 overs.
Batting first in the second fixture, the hosts racked up 176-7 as Badge made 60 off 42 and Davies amassed 65 from 38, with the duo putting on 117 for the third wicket off 72 balls.
It proved to be comfortably enough as the Eagles could muster only 135-8 in reply, with Andrews and Miley Mitchell each taking two wickets to see The Blaze to a 41-run win.
