Nottinghamshire legend Luke Fletcher leads a five-strong group of additions to Trent Rockets’ 2026 coaching staff ahead of this week’s Hundred Auction.

Fletcher and Australian Clinton Perren have been added to Chris Read’s staff on the women’s team, while Steven Mullaney and Carl Hopkinson take on roles with Peter Moores’ men’s side.

Analyst Holly Armitage rounds out the new additions and will take on a role covering both the men’s and women’s teams.

Perren, who enjoyed an 11-year playing career with his native Queensland, is currently the Batting Lead under Read at Lancashire Women, whom he helped to two trophies in 2025.

He has previous experience of The Hundred, having worked as a batting coach with London Spirit Women last summer as they finished third in the table and qualified for the Eliminator.

Nottingham-born Fletcher has worked as an Assistant Coach with The Blaze since the start of 2025, and previously also worked in The Hundred with the Rockets last summer.

“I’m really pleased to bring Clinton and Luke on board with the Rockets this summer,” said Read, who will take on the role of Women’s Head Coach for the first time in 2026.

“Clinton was a big part of the success we enjoyed at Lancashire last year, and Luke’s fantastic record in cricket speaks for itself.

“I’m really excited to welcome them both to the Rockets, and I’m very confident they’ll both add a huge amount as we push for success in 2026.”

Meanwhile, former Nottinghamshire captain Mullaney played at Trent Bridge for 14 seasons prior to his 2023 retirement, and was an assistant with Birmingham Phoenix Women in 2025.

Men’s Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: “Steven will bring a depth of knowledge of Trent Bridge and The Hundred competition after being involved as a player in past years.

“He’s moved rapidly as a coach, and this feels like a great opportunity for him to make an impact in multiple areas with the squad."

Alongside him, former Sussex batter Hopkinson, who counts England Men and Mumbai Indians among his former employers, will take on a specific fielding role with the men's side.

“We all realise the importance of fielding, especially in the shortest formats of the game,” continued Moores.

“Carl has a strong track record of improving players in this area, and allied to that, he’s a good all-round coach and he will add value in all areas around the team.”
