Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson have returned to the England squad for the decisive Trent Bridge Test, which begins on Thursday 25 June.

Captain Stokes and opening bowler Atkinson join the likes of Nottinghamshire duo Ben Duckett and Josh Tongue in the squad, with the three-match series finely poised at 1-1.

Wicketkeeper Jamie Smith also returns following the birth of his child, adding further experience to the side which were defeated by the Blackcaps at the Kia Oval.

England will be seeking to replicate their astonishing win over New Zealand last time the sides met at Trent Bridge in 2022, in a landmark victory in the early days of Stokes' captaincy.

England Men are unbeaten in Trent Bridge Test matches since 2018, having won the last three encounters.
