Marie Kelly and Charli Knott hit unbeaten fifties as The Blaze kept up a push for Vitality Blast Finals Day with a crushing nine-wicket bonus-point win over Essex.

Captain Kelly made 55 not out from 44, sharing in an unbroken stand of 95 with Australian Knott, who added a 35-ball 54, as the visitors raced to a target of 137 inside 16 overs.

Lucy Higham’s 3/24, and two wickets apiece for Knott and Georgia Elwiss, had earlier seen the hosts restricted to 136-9, with Liberty Heap’s 46 being the only score of note.

The comfortable win saw The Blaze take five points, with Craig Cumming’s side now second in the table and only two points behind leaders Hampshire, having played one game fewer.
