Joe Pocklington took four wickets in an impressive bowling display before Notts chased down 200 to make it three wins out of three in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Pocklington was supported by some strong performances with the ball from Brett Hutton and Lyndon James, who took two wickets apiece, while Dillion Pennington was rewarded for his economical bowling with one wicket.

Ben Martindale backed up the tremendous fielding effort by making a half-century alongside more valuable runs from Kyle Verreynne as Notts ran out winners by five wickets.

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, Hutton got Notts off to the perfect start with just his seventh ball, finding the inside edge of Rishi Patel on its way to the safe hands of Kyle Verreynne.

The duo struck again soon after, this time removing Ian Holland, who pushed at the ball outside off stump as it found an outside edge.

It meant that Leicestershire were 26/2 from their opening ten overs. The Outlaws had control of the run-rate throughout despite Stephan Eskinazi and Hamza Shaikh moving to a fifty partnership after battling through some tight bowling from Notts’ attack.

The Foxes were 79/2 at the halfway stage before Joe Pocklington made the breakthrough, removing Shaikh, who found Lyndon James at long on.

Pocklington took his second in the following over, this time bowling the in-form Ruan de Swardt for four. However, Eskinazi continued to play nicely, moving to his half-century.

Dillon Pennington had been unlucky in his earlier spell, but was justly rewarded when he removed Tattersall’s off-stump before James also got in on the act, in the following over, bowling Ben Cox, removing off-stump from its home once again.

Eskinazi seemed to be the only one to keep the Foxes fighting as his partners kept falling, as Pocklington earned his third wicket as Ben Green found George Munsey at mid-wicket.

He would end up with figures of 4-40 as he removed Ajaz Patel, as his slog found Ben Martindale coming in off the boundary rope.

Eskinazi would be the final Foxes wicket to fall as he was run out by Byron Hatton-Lowe just short of his half-century, settin 200 runs to win.

George Munsey’s One Day Cup debut for Notts Outlaws didn’t go how he would’ve liked, as he was caught at mid-on with just the second ball of the innings.

Freddie McCann and Ben Martindale motored on though and got Notts off to a good start, racing to their fifty partnership from 48 balls.

McCann couldn’t make it a third consecutive half-century though as he was caught behind. It meant skipper Haseeb Hameed would join Martindale at the crease and he looked in nice touch.

From 15 overs, Notts were 77/2 and comfortably above the run rate. A good catch from Holland on the rope, off the bowling of Ajaz Patel, meant Hameed had to depart for 20 soon before the 20-over mark.

Ben Martindale moved to his well-constructed half-century just before the halfway stage, which saw Notts 120/3; however, he was stumped after some clean glovework from Ben Cox behind the stumps the very next ball.

James joined Verreynne at the crease as the pair continued from the previous partnership by keeping the scoreboard ticking and moved Notts into a commanding position.

Verreynne moved Notts to within 50 of victory before he was caught and bowled by Rizvi after chipping one straight back to the bowler. 

But Notts weren't to be derailed, with Ahmed and James marshalling them to their target with more than seven overs to spare.
