Trent Rockets have signed Mohammad Amir for the 2026 edition of The Hundred, with the fast bowler replacing David Payne in the men’s squad.

Amir brings serious pace, experience, and wicket-taking pedigree to the Rockets attack.

The 34-year-old has taken more than 800 wickets across his career and has previously been clocked bowling at close to 95mph.

Amir will represent Trent Rockets as a domestic player after recently gaining a British passport, bringing extensive experience across international and franchise cricket, particularly in The Hundred, having previously won the competition with Oval Invincibles (now MI London) in 2024.

Amir replaces fellow bowler David Payne, who continues his recovery from an ankle injury. All at Trent Rockets wish David the best in his ongoing recovery.

Trent Rockets’ first home matchday takes place on Sunday 26 July at Trent Bridge. Tickets are already at limited availability, with bronze tickets sold out, meaning fans will need to book tickets quickly to see Amir in action.
