Heavy overnight rain continued into the morning, with the covers remaining resolutely in place.

While the skies briefly brightened before lunch, triggering the appearance of the groundstaff, the skies soon closed back in.

The rain became heavier in mid-afternoon, with play formally abandoned at 2.55pm. 

Notts will resume on 299/7 on day four, with play scheduled to begin at 11am.
