Freddie Price's lower-order half-century frustrated Nottinghamshire's Second XI in their efforts to secure victory at Sussex, with the hosts nine down as the two sides shook hands.
Sussex resumed on 17/0 at the start of day three, with James Hayes and Sam Seecharan accounting for openers George Thomas and Charlie Tear in successive overs.
Hayes and Seecharan finished with two second-innings wickets apiece, with Tom Giles and Joe Pocklington also bagging a brace, and Farhan Ahmed removing captain Dan Ibrahim.
But it was Price's 154-ball vigil which ultimately thwarted Notts' victory charge, Sussex reaching 334/9 at stumps.
