As Nottinghamshire hit the road for the first time in this season's Rothesay County Championship, we are again offering you the chance to put your knowledge to the test.

Before every round of fixtures in this year’s Championship, you will be challenged to name a Green and Gold line-up from a memorable game against each 2025 opponent.

Ahead of a trip to Edgbaston to face Warwickshire, it's a two-day innings victory at home, from the title-winning glory year of 2010.

 

1. Right-handed batter

Long-levered opener capable of clearing the boundary ropes with ease who retired from First-Class cricket in 2017 and has since established himself as a globetrotting T20 megastar.

2. Right-handed batter

Fellow opener signed from Somerset ahead of the 2008 campaign who played three seasons in green and gold, and is now the Player Pathway Development Manager at Trent Bridge.

3. Right-handed batter

Oxford alumnus who scored over 12,000 First-Class runs for Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire, switching to the latter following the 2006 season and playing five campaigns at Trent Bridge.

4. Right-handed batter, left-arm off-spin bowler

Bona fide all-round Nottinghamshire legend who spent over two decades in Green and Gold, as well as winning 60 all-format England caps, before departing at the end of the 2023 season.

5. Right-handed batter

One of a pair of standout Australian brothers who represented his country in over 100 white-ball matches, as well as playing 81 First-Class games for Nottinghamshire, scoring over 6,000 runs.

6. Right-handed batter

Batter who joined Nottinghamshire in 2009 after 18 years with Surrey, during which time he jointly won the 1998 Walter Lawrence Trophy for the fastest hundred in English domestic cricket.

7. Right-handed batter, wicket-keeper

Another indubitable Nottinghamshire legend who was captain for 11 seasons, and who scored over 20,000 all-format runs alongside claiming a Notts record of 983 First-Class dismissals.

8. Left-handed batter, right-arm fast-medium bowler

Militarily-nicknamed long-serving all-rounder with over 7,000 runs and 524 wickets in First-Class cricket, who is now Assistant Head Coach at Trent Bridge.

9. Right-arm fast-medium bowler

New Zealander who took 344 First-Class wickets for Nottinghamshire, one of which was Shivnarine Chanderpaul to famously seal the 2010 title against Lancashire at Old Trafford.

10. Left-arm fast-medium bowler

Yorkshire-born Test-capped seamer easily identifiable by his flowing hair who took 216 First-Class wickets for Notts, winning two Championship titles, in between spells with his home county.

11. Right-arm fast-medium bowler

Grimsby-born brother of a Australian international seamer who also played for Nottinghamshire, and who was famously called up by England for a solitary Test in 2008.
